71 Drivetrain, 68 frame; any issues?

I plan on building my truck using a '68 SWB frame I got nearly free, using the drivetrain of my '71 Cheyenne LWB [both trucks are 2WD]. Before I prep the '68 frame I thought I better ask you guys if the front and rear suspensions mounting points are the same, and also will mounting the '71 front clip on the '68 frame be a problem?

I got the '68 frame a few years ago, and have always assumed the frames were the same [except the wheelbase], but I thought I should check first.

Thanks!

Welcome to the board from South Mississippi. You shouldn't have any issues with the frame. You may want to swap the disc brakes and 5 lug rear from your 71 to your 68 first of all. Good luck and post pics of it in progress.

5 lugs and the disks definitely, the only part of the '68 that I intend to use is the frame. I will use the 71 front and rear suspensions, well except the springs, it will be all air ride.

I will post pictures of all the significant milestones for sure.
