stuck on the steering gear?
I took the 4 bolts off the frame BUT there is a big nut on the
pitman arm that I forgot about. Which bolt do I take off? Which end of the pitman arm? The one end has a cotter pin though it. I think the one directly under the steering gear or box is the one I should take off but not sure if it even a bolt it is so gummed up What size nut would that be 22mm? 3/4"??

The pitman arm should have a 1 5/16" nut holding it on, then you should really use a pitman arm puller to get it off. Beating or wedging it off can damage the gear internally. To remove the pitman arm from the center link, I remove the nut(13/16 or 7/8 I think) completley to clean the threads then start it back on the stud about halfway to keep the threads from getting hit. Then I smack the center link right where the pitman arm stud goes through it. They usually fall right out. Good Luck.

SO take the cotter pin out and loosen that big nut and take the other nut
off the center link once it is out of the truck? I can't get a puller so I'll have to "smash" it out. I'll have to put the frame bolts in to hold the SOAB. |

Sorry if I confused you, I stay confused and sometimes it's contagious. You can just leave the pitman arm on the box, remove the cotter key and the nut on the center link and separate the pitman arm from the center link. Let us know if that works.
