Angry O/T but i need help please!

Ok guys here's my problem. I've got a 1995 chevrolet 4.3L Vortec engine in a 1985 s-10 blazer 4x4. It's all rigged up and was all good. The intake gasket (lower one) had a leak so there was fluid leakage. I pulled both intakes (CPI model so it has 2) and replaced the gaskets and all that. got it all stitched up and plugged in the wires/sensors etc.
My issue is i cant get the lil SOB to fire up. I found TDC by checking to feel air comin from #1 cyl. then i put a screwdriver in there to find when the piston hit top and back down. Lined up the timing mark on the balancer, looked at where the rotor was setup adn put the cap back on. Put the plug wire for #1 on where the rotor was pointing and cranked, no luck, it cranks but doesnt seem to be firing. Ohh i disconnected that wire for the computer (tan with black stripe) and all that jazz. I

I know this is off topic guys but i'm goin nutz here and i cant get the bloomin thing to fire up at all and i've been futzing with the advance etc. but no go whatsoever.

Please any and all help would be SO great, i appreciate anything in advance because if i cant get this thing running i gotta have it towed to someone and then of course payin out the ying yang.
Thanks
Greg

Afraid I can't answer your question, but I would like to ask you one (or two). How much of a job was it to put in the 4.3? Were you replacing a 2.8? I have an '87 4x4 with a sorry 2.8 that I would like to replace.

Cant tell you how much the setup cost or how complicated it was but it seems liek it'd be a ***** because taht motor has a ton of electronics to it. it was done to replace the 2.8 and it's got the new 4l60E tranny in it too. I'm sure it was expensive but i bought it after the fact. Sorry

Have you checked the basics? Such as, are you getting spark to the plugs? If so,,, will it run briefly if you spray a little starting fluid down the throttle body? What I'm saying is check for fuel delievery and spark before you go any further.

Red face

Wet plugs? It hasn't pooped, farted or back-fired? Double check (triple, quadruple) for spark at the plugs. Possibly plugs are gas fouled and will not spark,,,,try a different/fresh set. Pull all the plugs,,allow cylinders to dry,,,,squirt a little oil in each to build up compression,,,install clean dry (new) plugs. Had another thought,,,,is fuel continously spraying from injectors as you crank? ( Smell/examine engine oil for gas) I'm thinkin maybe pressure regualtor is messed up (maybe with crud from when is was apart) and it's flooding the engine.
