What did you get done?

I got a lot done this weekend, but nothing truck related. Saturday I watched my daughters volleyball team win another round in the Houston Power League tournament. They kicked some butt

Sunday I washed a couple of my trucks and went to church. The rest of the day has been spent helping my daughter with a major Texas History project. It will count for 40% of her grade this semester. We have had great fun doing a report on Juan Seguin, making paper dolls of Texas frontier people, a essay on Cinco de Mayo, and making an historical marker on the Allen Brother's.....

What did you get done....?

well I pulled the motor out of the 87 Jimmy (finally) and bent my $119 VIP engine crane in the process. what a POS. That had to go back and now I am researching replacements. I also managed to drag the carcass back from my house about 10 feet with my Suburban before I gave up. Three wheels and one corner on the gravel in the snow and ice uphill makes it tough. I hate to spend money on a tire and wheel for something I am sending to the scrapyard in a few days... Now I need an engine stand to start the rebuild. I can't see putting that motor in without rebuilding it.

No truck stuff. Worked all day Saturday, and helped my grandparents move from their current residence to their new residence all day Sunday. I had hoped to start on the bed of Yeller, but that will have to wait until mid week.

spent sat. cleaning house as usual and went and looked at some manufactered homes with the wife.. found one we really like and a sales woman who wasn't pushy like the others.. easy to talk to and seemed to be willing to work with us.. not happy about moving in with the in-laws for a few months but will put alot of $$$ in the account to get the trailer set up.

Sun, i worked 13hrs, came home and had a home cooked dinner.....and am finishing the night up on here.....

Friday night I got a great phone call my brother owns a towing company about 40 miles north of here and he said he was in a bind and needed my help. He was out of town and one of his drivers was sick so asked if I could tow a Semi up north about 100 miles and he'd give me 40% of his profit from it . Well doing the brotherly thing I said yes with one exception. He had a 84 suburban with full power windows and locks a perfect dash pad and bezels that was going to get shipped to the junkyard so He let me have everything off it I wanted. Sunday I made breakfast with my four year old then went and unlaoded all my new to me parts. Changed the oil in the Yukon and continiued cleaning out the garage amazing how much space you have when stuff is put away neatly. Mowed the lawns frront and rear and BBQ'd a nice pic tri tip. All in all a great weekend.

everything this weekend was 4x4 related

got the black '79 grille i scored off ebay for $25 shipped and put that on friday, looks so much better not having a busted out grille. i need to get new pics of the truck, i put some different 15x10 alloy ar rims on it that look alot better than the rusted steelies it had.

got my 6 inch front and rear springs from a friend for $200 for all four. pulled the axles, hubs, drums, backing plates, lines, ect stripped off the 14bff i bought and its ready to clean and paint it then the rear disk breaks go on it. started taking apart the new d44 front also. once i get my tax return back i can buy the rest of the parts for the disc break conversion, new tierods ball joints ect for the front, and new shocks and stabalizers. should have the axles and springs in with in the next month along with the new shocks and front end rebuild it will be like driving a whole new truck, right now every part in the front end is worn out and its got blocks and overloads on front and rear so it rides like a tank

Started the weekend by putting a Optima Red Top in (Very nice) and also picked up a head light adjustment screw and housing (mine was broke in 3 parts). Put the red top in on saturday. Sunday I realized that they gave me the wrong adjustment screw so, went back to Advanced Auto to swap out. While I was there I decided to pick up some new headlights. All they carried was Sylvania so, picked up a set. Got home and unplugged the old lights and noticed that the leads on the sylvania's were shorter than what I had. The plug would not stay on the lamp. Took the lights back and the guys had no idea. Ended up going to O'rielies and picked up a set of Wagner lamps and they fit perfect.

I cleaned up the house this weekend and worked on making some simple changes to my brothers website that he requested. Sunday was Church and that afternoon was spent talking to an old friend I hadn't seen in a while talking about old time.

Once i get it back ill start switching back to my tan interior

Nothing with my truck sadly. Friday was a real bummer so i went to bed about 7, and saturday i had to get up about 7 and went to Junior Day at NSU. College is gonna be scary, glad i still got SOME high school left. Saturday night also sucked, so I did some nyquil and hit the sack around 9. Went car looking with my lil sis who is gonna need wheels shortly. She wants a Jeep, but i have been sellin the idea of a s10 blazer.....
I had a big letdown sunday night socially, so once again i hit the sack really early, with the aid of nyquil, and now im at home sick........
Ain't life grand?

Did a few small things around the house, but sucked in by Resident Evil 4 on the Game Cube.
This is the best Resident Evil by far, I only played the first two anyway.
IMO, Will be in the rankings for game of the year.
