wheel base on a shorty

I believe the wheel base on the 55-59 shorties was 114" wasn't it?
But if I cut down a 72 chassis to 115" it would still fit properly right? Trying to decide what to do with the 58 chassis, either re-weld the Nova clip into it properly or replace the entire chassis.

i think that a mustang II front end would be way easier than swapping to the 72 frame. I tried to swap a s-10 frame under my 46 car.The bends in the frame were way to hard to work with so i put the original frame back in with a mustang II front end.
Good points about the mustang II front ends are;larger ball joints than novas or camaros,no need to cut the frame in half ,larger bearings and rack and pinion steering
bad points:small brakes.easy to swap to larger brakes with a kit or use Granada front discs that will bolt on to the mustang spindles.
Or this option Dakota front end.the crossmember wleds in but is stronger than the 'tang II.they also run rack in pionion steering.
This is only my opion on the question and am not saing the 72 frame would not work.I just think that this is an easier way to go.
