On my '73 3/4 ton? I dont have any info on these wheels but was hoping someone here might know if they will work. Thanks

Well they look like the ones on my 2500HD 2002. If they are the same I believe it is GMC paul that is putting them on his garden truck. He was having small issues with the centercaps, do a search for the "garden truck"

that is Wes that has the Garden Truck, not GMCPaul.
The only issue I could see running them is not being able to use the stock center caps up front to cover the lockouts, I think those rims look good...oh, and they are made for GM by Alcoa, so they are good quality.

Do the 8 luggers use hub centric like the 6 luggers? late model 6 lug wheels won't fit over my hubs or over the little round peice on the rear drums.

I've been wondering the same thing, wanting to convert my k10 over to 1 ton axles....and 8lug

. lots of guys in my area lift thier new trucks and those wheels are commonly found cheap. my niegbor with an 87 k10 told me that the new wheels are a differnt bolt pattern. he said just in the last year or so,(since 03??maybee) new 8 lug trucks have metric bolt paterns. i'm not sure if i belive him, i saw a set of the exact wheels you just showd on a 199? suburban. i havnt heard anything else saying they are different. so let us know......

All GM 8 lug wheels (all years, not including dually wheels) have the same bolt pattern, center hole diameter, and offset. Only Ford went to the metric bolt circle.

I saw a yellow 67-72 in a magazine with those, so I assume they do work.

The only thing is the back spacing might be to shallow. but then again those h2 rims fits are style trucks.

****! I had the same question today at work. The reply I got was yes they would fit fine. There are aftermarket center caps if you don't want to dremel your manual hubs out of prison.

My question is this- With a 4" lift and 35x12.5 BFG KO's on these new 8" rims- how much tire is going to stick out past the wheel well?

I assume their 16" tall wheels? So they should clear the steering arm, but is it possible with a 12.5" wide tires and a good deal of BSing they could rub the springs? You might wanna put some spacers on the back too otherwise their gonna be tucked in tight and might rub something with a 12.5" tire.

yea today i was at the NHRA drags at pamona and i talked to a rep from American racing wheels and he said exactly that......ford had changed a few times since the late 80's early 90's but gm is still the same, new 8 lug chevy wheels will fit older chevys.....

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure those are not 8" wide rims. I believe they are 16x6.5 - someone will correct me if I'm mistaken!

If you are talking about the wheels in the picture in the first post in this thread, then yes, they are 16 X 6 1/2 inches.

Oh no. That's a wrench in the plan. BFG recomends at least a 8" wide rim with 12.5 wide tires. Any ideas?

H2 rims...but they are 17 x 8.5 , there is a set on ebay selling for $150 right now.

Yes, those wheels will fit any 8 lug GM truck. Back spacing is the same for all years. As far as using the center caps on an older straight axle with locking hubs is as easy as taking the proper size hole saw to make access for the hub.

You will also need a set of 36 of these lug nuts as the late model metric nuts will not fit an older truck. (36 X $1.40= $50.40) ouch!

i second the warning to watch the backspacing. i bought the nice 18" wheels in my avitar with the assurance they would fit. they do, but i cant turn all the way to the right. about half way there, the tires hit the drag link where it joins the steering arm HARD. enough that if you werent thinking, you might end up ripping the steering box off the frame! it hits REALLY hard. and the rears rub about an inch of the inner fender/bed area, but only if you get it twisted up so the tires are tucking. the wheels are 18x9 with about 5 inch BS. if you can find a set fo compareable wheels, do some trial and error looking without the tire to see if they might rub anything when steering.

One more time…..Stock 8 lug GM wheels such, as the one’s in the picture at the beginning of this thread, (RPO code: PYO on 1999 to current GM trucks) have had the same backspacing since the late 50’s or early 60’s.

Where you run into problems is when adding aftermarket wheels such as 724wdcopper’s 18” wheels. I run 285/75x16 BFG’s on my Silverado HD with these same PYO wheels with no problem.
