Buckets for 86 GMC pickup?
Maybe a dumb question, but in place of my bench seat will full size Blazer buckets bolt right to the existing floor of my 86 GMC pickup? Don't want a console, have B&M Mega shifter for between buckets if they are an easy fit.
If this will work, does anyone have a set, even solid seat frames are o/k, as I can get new foam and have them recovered. Thanks.

No, Blazer seats will not bolt directly into a pickup. The difference is in the shape of the floorboards in a Blazer and pickup. The only direct bolt in would be buckets from a pickup. The next closest would be Suburban buckets or Blazer buckets with Suburban mounting brackets.
I have a set of Blazer buckets that I put Suburban brackets on. Looking at a mockup in my cab I think the Sub brackets can be made to fit with some tweaking. It looks like the seat slides will be bent at the rear attach point to match the pickup floor and the front inside attach points will need some massaging. The only difference in the Blazer and Suburban buckets is that the Blazers don't tilt forward and don't have arm rests, the Suburbans have both features. Make sure you get the seat attaching brackets that are spot welded to the floor if you get junkyard seats. You will also need the seat belt recievers from the donor. I think the shoulder belts are the same. |

Links to ebay auctions for the bucket seat brackets have been posted here. They go for an awful lot of money. I'm not sure, but I think the last one was for $175 for the pair?
