Would you have your Qjet rebuilt or get a new 1904?

My Qjet was already calibrated for my engine, so I had it rebuilt.

I have and edelbrock 650cfm on my truck and it runs awesome. Good price, easy to install, easy to take apart and rebuild/clean and my truck runs awesome. I have a Q-jet in my camaro and it needs work...don't work right anymore

I used a square bore with an adapter though...the edelbrock Q-jets are really expensive. If you have an overdrive set-up I'd stick with what you have due to TV cable adjustment. What cfm is a 1904?

I have a qjet with a divorced choke that is giving me problems and was thinking of getting a new carb. I am looking at the edelbrock 1904 or the remanufactrued one. What is the differnce besides the edelbrock label? What is the price difference?

Edelbrock Q jets are discontinued!!!! Good luck trying to find a 1904... go with a Holley spreadbore if you need that type of carb...

This doesn't mean much but Edelbrock is still selling them on their web site.

Difference is, well, all new parts, not remanufactured. I have read something about sealing up problem areas that tend to leak air over time.

Qjets also somehow know what the engine needs. Supposedly you can have a 350, bore and stroke it to let's say a 383, and the qjet keeps up without making too many changes. I'm no expert, these are just some things I have read over the last few weeks.

I have recently tried to find a retailer on the web... after many frustrating tries, I have given up. To the best of my knowledge, even edelbrock is not selling these anymore, as of the first of the year, that is. I am also only talking about new units, not the remaned ones. You might be able to find one of these available. I guess these units were very costly to build and then they did not move a lot of them, so they have given up on this q jet. I had thought I had found one in San Diego, I paid and I was told via email that the carb was on its way, only to find out that they did not ship it and it was an error on their part and they have not had any for a long time... a lot of web sites tend to update their info late after production changes occur.

Check with BC Broncos. The owner there is selling an Q-Jet set up for offroad use.
