Question Bench to Bucket Conversion

I have an 87 chevy utility body that i just purchased. I find that the seat is worn and not very confortable. If you could suggest some ways to either covert to bucket seats or just make the old bench more confortable. thanks for any help that you may be able to provide.

To convert to bucket seats, I did it in my suburban. I had to get the 2 innermost brackets cut out of the other vehicle and have them welded in my suburban.

depending on how much you want to spend, JEGS has two different style bucket seat conversions for 73-87 chevy trucks made that will fit perfectly, no modifications or any thing. all you have to do is buy the brackets for them that are custom made for the truck. all together it runs between $800-$900 i believe. sound kind of high but they are brand new and no modifications of brackets or welding is required. i'm going to order a set for myself soon.

Get a seat cover and put a sheet of foam. About 1/2 in thick or so really whatever you would feel would be comfortable to sit on the seat bottom and see how that works. That's the cheapest way so far, just depends on how much you wanna spend or if you rather have buckets. Im more of "function over form" for that part.

Welcome to the board
