What is the going rate for the 1972 sharp curved tow hooks (Both bent in the same direction)? How much are the 69-71 versions going for (slight bends the are intended to have a left side and right side).

Yes i did buy a set of ebay but they weren't the 72's . Still got them at a fair price .

they're worht $5 for the set, i'll be nice and give you $20 plus shipping

in all reality they sell for about $125 a set from what ive seen, but i dont know about with them beign 72 ones?
myself--ive never really kept up with what years go for what, im not concerned with originality on my mutt k20 so i bought a set of 83 ones for $20

I believe he is asking for a price check. IMO and after veiwing this board and ebay; this the "now" prices.
This approx. priceing is for good to excellent condition.

67-68 models: $125 to $200 smackers
69-71 models: $150 to $275 greenbacks
72 model: $200 to $300 big bucks

This is a estimation and is still open for debate. Hope this gives you a little help.

Your are right...I was just asking what the current running value of these tow hooks are. Yes, I do have both types but I wasn't trying to sell them. It is nice to know that they are worth a lot though, I did have several offers of up to $300 for the 72 model ones!

A decent winch is only $500-$800.

Nah, no envy from me. I don't even like tow hooks myself. Pulling from one side of the frame is a bad idea imo. I have a "d" ring in the center of my bumper to pull with.

As far as understanding...no need to explain the why part. It's just the people that pay completely insane prices are the reason why my truck will probably never be much more than a beater.
They say they want to "preserve" the old vehicles. Yea maybe so as long as it's their old vehicles.

I say if ya want an original truck, the local dealer will sell you one any day of the week.

That's just it, you hit it right on the head. A new one, yeah, you can buy one any day of the week. I've got a couple of them, and they don't mean anything to me. The new ones are my "work trucks". I have more dents/dings in them than I do in my old trucks. A '72 4X4, you can't buy any day of the week, even though it may seem like it. You say your's is a "beater". In my opinion, there is no such thing as a '72 4X4 beater. I say, nice truck, regardless of it's condition. Your truck has earned that right if for no other reason because it's still around. I'm a bone stock original guy. When I get in my trucks, if it's a '72, I want it to look and feel like it's 1972, right down to the tow hooks. When I look at a chopped, modified, modern, 67-72, it makes me cringe. Just my opinion.

Yea, mine's a beater. And it'll probably never even get a second look from people except to say, "to bad, that could be a nice truck".
I don't mind that so much though cause my neighbor has/had? a nice 72 but it never got out of the garage except to go to the show. That's a waste of any truck/car IMHO.
As far as feeling like it's 1972, could ya bring back the gas prices too please!! My 454 sure would appreciate it! Hahaha LOL
