4-speed question..again...

the t-10 the guy had turned out not to be a t-10..but im not sure what it is..its an aluminum 4-speed but the reverse lever is underneath the other levers instead of behind them on the tailshaft like the t-10 and muncie..i do know its a NEW PROCESS..it has the NP logo on it....i seen a pic of a dodge NP 4-speed and they look the same but from what i see of dodge clutches they have different splines .. this has same plines (front and rear) as my saginaw.. i bought it anyway cause it was cheap but dont know what it is.. anybody have a clue????????????????

Does it have overdrive? I had a NP 4 speed (4th was overdrive) in my truck for several years. It shifted well but did not hold up well. It went out (made a horrible grinding squeeking sound first) and I just put a 3 speed back in and never figured out what went bad. I hear they are not very strong transmissions.
