Easiest way to Remove/Replace Tailgate?
What is the best way to remove and replace the tailgate? I got it off easy enough, but I wasnt too worried about scratching the paint. Once I get the bed repainted and go to put it back on, I am worried that I will mess the new paint up. I havent figured out how to get the trunnion out from behind the little lip in the bedside without pushing out on the top of the bedside and dragging the trunnion across that lip. Is there an easy way to do it? Am I missing something simple?

You can notch the trunion like the later model trucks are done from the factory. That makes it easier to put back together by yourself. Unfortunately, it also makes it easier for theives to steal.
My suggestion . . .... get a friend, neighbor, significant other to help reassemble.
