Hlite toggle switch
I know that I read somewhere in here that somebody switched there headlight switch to a toggle switch. I cant find it for the life of me. Anybody know what I'm talking about? Am I crazy or could this work?

Seriously - sure, it could work, but why on Earth would anyone want to do that? If the switch is bad, replace it!

although....the headlight and dimmer are the same.....how would you use the dimmer if you put a toggle for the lights?

He means the Interior light Dimmer...Not the high to low beam dimmer.. But any rheostat switch would solve that problem, BUT... if you wanted to make some wild dash with lots of toggle switches. you could run the interior dash lights off of a toggle also, and either use different wattage bulbs to dim or brighten, ( this would be permanent unless you changed the bulbs again) Or you could wire a resistor in line that would lower the voltage to the interior lights, IE; lowering the brightness... You could do a triple throw toggle that you could rig to be, OFF,LOW,HIGH.... OR, A double throw, Wired from (through) the initial headlight on-off switch, that would be High-low...This way, anytime you turn the headlights on, Your dash gauge lights would be automatically on as they are now. !!! ( this would also have the use of an inline resistor) |

Mine was wired to where you used the factory switch for the parking lights, and then a 3 way toggle under the dash high/off/low.
Real PITA. |
