Unhappy Tach Question

Ok here is probably a stupid quetion - I have a 2 wire (red and black) tach that I want to use to setup my idle and fuel mixture. The instructions with the tach show it hooking to a point type distributor however I have the HEI.
So my question is will this tach work and how do I hook it up?

Thanks
Greg

There is a tach terminal on your dist cap right beside were the battery power wire hooks up, wichever wire was supposed to hook up the coil for the point gets hooked up to the tach terminal now. A standard female spade will plug right in.

The cap on the HEI will have it written right on it for the connector for the tach, your tach might of actually come with the conncetor, mine did at least.
