New bee
new guy on the board just wanting to say hey and thanks for all the great information. i have had my blazer for about a year and a half i have put a 8" suspension lift and 1 " body lift with 1" zero rated add a leaf 14 bolt rear axle a dana 60 front axle 4.56 gears rebuilt the trans and transfer case. After reading about forty posts last weekend i decided to haul it in and tear it apart. firt question is were to start. i have the front clip off doors interior in guted should i strip the paint before rust repair or rust repair and then strip paint thanks for the help i amgoing to need it. I posted my firewall rust on the paint and body side of the house.

I would do the rust repairs and then strip the paint. That way if your slow like me, you aren't leaving metal exposed while doing the rust repair.

Welcome from Ky., Wally. I'm in the same boat as you; I plan on doing body and paint work this spring. You in the AF? My bro was stationed in Sumter in the mid 90s. Maybe I'll check you out on my way to Myrtle this summer. I'm hoping to have my 72 ready to take to the beach in June or July.
