Heater cable help !!

I am cold and confused. I restored my heater control assembly ( non-AC ) and cannot figure out how the middle cable is routed. The cable that is connected to the switch. I keep getting it in a bind.

My flashlight is dying but it looks like it goes behind the defroster duct, behind and down below the suitcase to the door with the lever at the bottom of the case?
