seat time....
I have been running Jazz plastic buckets in the longhorn.....Im ready for a change! I am looking at the early 90's PU bench seats (nothing fancy) just a good old veloure seat. i need a little advice on fit.....beaering in mind that i could have shifter handle issues(6 spd richmond, sb, in i 6 spot). crazyL

i put an 89 bench in my k20 just like that one, but i had to put 1" spacer blocks under it to make it comfertable... i also had to drill 4 new holes in the floor... i'll try to get pics tomarow if its bright enough out

If the gas tank is out of the cab.....will the seat slide back a little more? I need to keep it as low as possible, due to a 4" chopped top....

If you mount it into the factory front holes, you'll need a 1" spacer for the rear mount and have to drill a new hole for the rear mount. In your case, I would use the late model bracket slid back to where it will mount flat on the floor. You'll need 4 new holes, but it will sit approximately the same height as a stock bench, maybe a hair lower. As far as front to back movement, the top of the seat hits the cab ridge before the tank , so it would be a very minimal, if any, amount of extra space that the removed tank would give you. Check my site and it'll make sense. I used the stock front mount holes.

 I may have to notch the seat, or build a "boomerang" shift handle to fit......just looking for a smooth ride out on the open road .... L
