Super Cheyenne donor questions

I just bought a 71 Super Cheyenne LWB for parts. I was hoping it had tilt and tach but it just had factory cruise.
I want to do a suspension swap, it has power disc front and trailing arm coil in back (5 lug).
My 3/4 GMC LWB has drums on all corners and leaf springs in back (8 lug).
Which is best, keep the half ton frame intact and mount my body on it or graft the half ton components onto my frame. I'll be dropping the suspension probably 3/4.
Also is the factory cruise a difficult thing to add?
Thanks...........

I think it is probably easier to mount your body onto the frame, no welding or cutting needed. It should basically just bolt on. Grafting the 1/2ton components onto your frame might be a little faster, but a little harder if you have never done it before.

Cruise it not a hard option to add if you have all the pieces.

Basically grab anything and everything thats connected to it.

Good for trading value too if your interested, let me know if selling it.

I've been thinking about stripping the donor truck to the frame and doing the drop, rebuilding anything needed all while driving the 3/4 frame. Once the frame and suspension is complete mount my body. I've never done any of this before so expect lots of questions.
Any feedback on the factory cruise?

Hey Rod,
My truck. the JC Whitney special, has a nonfunctioning after market cruise added.
A functioning factory cruise would be great, but I haven't hauled the donor truck home yet to study.
I have no idea how one of these units hooks up or whether these old factory units are durable and likely to work.
Thanks,
aitch
