fuel guage sending unit

How is it you test to see if you have a bad wire going to the unit or if the unit itself is bad?

You can just pull the wire off of the sending unit and ground it to the tank or cab. If it goes to empty, then you have a bad sending unit. If it doesn't move, then the wire's bad.
