GM 4X4 Question
What year did General Motors first offer four wheel dirve as a "Factory Option" on pickups? Not an after market conversion, etc.

Although i believe that you coudl get some starting in 1957 with 4x4 but they had a NAPCO conversion on them....'60 was the first year of a factory engineered 4x4 truck.

Lucas is correct. 1960 is the first year for the GM-designed 4x4. In the early 50s the Napco Powr-Pak was introduced, but it was installed at the dealership on a new 2wd truck. Then in the late 50's, GM would add the 4 wheel drive on at the assembly line, but it was still Napco pieces.
Napco kept making 4x4 conversions into the 70s.
