Does anybody know what t350 tailshaft lengths were used in 67-72 series trucks, burbs , blazers or 4x4 trucks? I just want to know for future referrence and interchangeability. If you know what 73-87 uses, that would be helpful to. Thanks!

If not the lengthd of a t350 is 27 11/16, 30 11/16, 37 7/8 these are all overall lengths of t 350 trannies

Dean is right, but in simple terms...the short shaft Th350 was used.

I can't open the link above, but someone told me there are 3 shaft lenghts (I beleive he said 4",6",9"). Is this true. Is 6" the short shaft or is a 4wd t350 shaft shorter.

They are 6"- 9" and 12". I had a 9" that was from a mid 70's Monte Carlo. I've seen late 70's 2wd long bed trucks with the 12" and old Impala's with the 12".

yup there was a 6-9-12 most of these trucks came with the short shaft

I've pulled a bunch of TH350's out of 73-87 trucks and they were 9 inch versions, which is also the same length as a 700R4 is.

All the 67-72 trucks I've ever seen or owned had 6 inch tailshaft TH350s.

hey tx, I have a TH350 out of a 81 Camaro.. does this mean I can use a driveshaft from a 73-87 truck?

I used an 83 swb driveshaft in my 69 truck with a 9 inch Th350 and V8 position. It was a straight swap, but I had to get an adapter rear u-joint for the 12 bolt. The 83 donor truck had a 10 bolt which used a smaller u-joint.

actually, I have a shaft from an 84 I was gonna get, so I will have the same situation i guess. Where could I get an adapter u-joint? Do you know a particular part number?

Any parts store like AutoZone or whatever local flavor you have will stock the conversion u-joint. They're real common and priced cheap too.

If they can't help you, find a different parts guy. They exist and are readily available.
