Pearl bronze sounds a lot like burnt orange. I can't wait to see that truck driving around Austin. Maybe we should have a local board meet for the official unveiling.

Thanks for the kind replies.

Just got back from Chicago. I remember now; I hate cold weather.

Hook'em: No doubt a Longhorn alumni. Yeah, it's a color I think the UT folks would approve of. I'm game for the board meet idea. You are more than welcome to come see it now if you like. It's in South Austin right off Burleson Rd. just past the Texas Parks & Wildlife headquarters. I'm there just about every weekend, just let me know. My plan is to get it in the Super Chevy Show in April that is in one of the towns just south of Austin.

Billy G: Buda is the first town south of Austin, about 2 hours west of Houston

Spoof: All the parts are painted except the cowl panel and mirrors. The plan is to hang the doors, glass it in, start installing the interior then hang the front clip and install the bed. The drive train is already installed.

70c10: No, the windshield was taken out when the truck was disassembled.

67ChevyRedneck: No, its not my shop. It belongs to a buddy of mine who owns the body shop. Yes that's a spray booth. He just lets me work on my junk there and lays down the paint on my projects along with helping me out when I get in beyond my skill level.

vortexofpain: N2TRUX is exactly right, the interior is already painted (a different color than the exterior). The underside of the cab is painted chassis black which is why the bottom edged is back taped all the way around to avoid overspray on it too.

HeavyD: Good eye!! Yes, it's a '70 Mach 1 a friend of mine is building. He saw the one I built and decided to build one too. The only difference is that his is going to very unique with all the modifications he is making.

The Corvette color is "Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic". The color I picked before I even knew it was a GM color is a pearl rather than a metallic. The pictures I posted earlier don;t do the color justice.... just a bad camera I think.
