WTB Vortec Heads

A Buddy of mine is looking for a set of 96 up chevy truck 350 heads. He just needs good castings he will freshen them up.

So Far my best Times are:

Motor only:
6.44 1/8 @ 104.13
10.39 1/4 @ 125.83

Nitrous Times:
5.785 1/8 @ 118.65 with a 1.336 60ft
9.168 1/4 @ 142.58 with a 250 shot dead out of the hole!

Are those the center bolt style valve covers?? Are they a good performance head??

Yep centerbolt heads and they do flow well and have a high effecient quick burn combustion chamber. You have to run a different intake because the center bolts are angled different. Vortech perform alot better than most other factory castings and you can score them real cheap. Downside to using them is you have to buy a $200.00 intake to work with them and IMO they have junky valve guides, springs, seals.

You are almost right but they actually don't have any bolts in the center of the intake at all! They have 4 bolts front and 4 bolts rear at a totally differant angle than other heads. when the intake is on the motor the intake bolts are totaly vertical to the ground! I think they are the only way to go if you aren't going to spend big bucks on a set of heads!
