67 CST w/ leaf springs?

I spoke to guy on the phone today that has a lwb 69 he wants to sell. I tell him I would like to look at it but I really want a 67 swb. So he says he has a 67 frame he pulled the body off of a while back, and he goes on to say it has the leaf springs instead of coils in the rear. I've never heard of such. My first thought was maybe C20 came with leafs. He says it was definitely a C10. Anyone heard of this? Or is he yanking my chain?

Yeah, its a half ton option. I had only seen one before, but since i've been on the board, lots of people have them. I would rather have a coil frame, but thats for lowering and ride. I think they just took a 4x4 half ton leaf set up and put it under a 2wd. I think, don't know for sure.

Cool! Thanks for the info. I have to agree with you on the coil vs leaf. I think I'll stick with a coil frame. But it's nice to gain a lil bit of knowledge.
See everybody the internet is good for more than just lookin' at porn!

Also, most GMC trucks had leaves with optional coils, while most Chevys were coils, with optional leaves.

aux springs ar ethe correct name for that option, yes, its not actualy a leaf sprig, but half of one in appearance, ans is worth 50 each side additonal cargo on top of the std gvw of 5000 all these trucks had in 67-72 C and K10 form.

leaf spring option is G70 and is more common thna you think, i even see a couple here and have one out here in driveway.
Have pic of glovebox door spid label with it listed in description even and with 16" wheels, yes is a C10.

good luck

I thought they were pretty neat as I have never seen any like that before

If you remove the coil springs from the rear...how low will it ride on just the aux leaf? I took mine off and am considering replacing the 2x4 blocks with these temporarily...LMAO...those wood blocks make it ride like a truck...hey wait a minute...it is a truck!
