I have a 69 SWB I bought recently. It smells of fuel in the cab if it sits for a while. I noticed there appears to be a vent hose off the passenger side of the tank. It goes out the passenger cab corner. I do not remember this from my previos 69's. I think this may be an older tank. Anyone else have this?

thats actually a newer take and i think it was a 72 only deal that is a vent you could either plug it or just vent it with the right lines from a 72

My 71 had the vent hose, I thought they all had the vent on the passenger side. I don't know for sure though.

My 72 has the vent tube, the line runs up inside the side post and then loops back down, to trap fumes but not allow liquid fuel from get out. Buy the way this fuel tank is for sale (moving tank to rear) $35.00 with locking cap, line and gromet.

I would check the rubber fuel line under the cab also, mine just went @ a month ago and lost a full tank of high test to boot.

teh line pictured was 71/72 only, sounds like you have a later tank. You could plug it and install a vented cap. (ask for one for a 69, it'll be vented) I had the stant p/n for the correct cap, but I seem to have misplaced it.
On a side note...how do you like being stationed at the NTC? I was always hearing that it was the army's best kept secret...but I just couln't see it. I spen ALOT of time in that damn hell hole.

Hi, I have a 71 without a vent hose. But not sure if it the right tank for the year truck.
