Electric Choke...

My electric choke(quadrajet 4bbl 305) doesn't seem to be turning off. It will just stay revved up, no matter how many times I hit the gas to try to turn it off.

If I shut the car off for just a second and start it again, it will idle just fine. As soon as I hit the gas to go again it will stick on again. Sometimes in a great while it will actually work like it is supposed to and stay off.

What could cause this?

Thanks, Scott.

Check your choke pull. If it is not working right it will cause the problem that you are having.

Sorry, but what exactly is the "choke pull"? The little rod going into the round choke piece?

The choke pulloff is that vacuum pot on the right front of the carb. John
