I was cleaning out my truck and found this. What is this used for?

kinda looks like a spare tire holder...but for the trunk of a car maybe?

Passenger side spare tire retainer. Used for the underneath spare tire carrier. The "C" sheet metal that holds the tire up has a keyway in it for the stamped nut. The tire iron goes in the hole and letts you unscrew it or screw it back up tight. With it turned sideways to the keyway the tire wont fall down. I run a chain through the center of the tire around the frame through the keyway and padlock it. That way it wont loosen and fall down.

Now I can get that spare tire out of the back of mt truck. ANyone got a pic of one installed?
