Talking 69 Longhorn

Hello everyone,Just thought I'd show some pics of my new truck. It's a 69 longhorn 396/400 has oak bed,was origionally olive/white was sandblasted in and out by p/o and repainted.Very fun truck to drive Need to get a tailgate and bumper for it and reinstall the saddle tanks. My only question is theres a keyhole on the drivers side fender right by the fender emblem anyone know what this does?Buy the way whatever it is it's not hooked up.

Have also seen a "keyhole" installed by owners on the fender..more often than not, its hooked up (or was, in your case) to an aftermarket alarm system.
..BTW: nice set of "options" on your vehicle !!..Tach & Speed Warning to name a few.....

Nice truck.
Its most likely an alarm switch.

Nice truck man, good view of the mountains too. I figured you'd have more snow up there.

OMG, it's even got shoulder belts on the data sticker. Do you have close up pics of those? Very nice find!

Looks like you ran it up Lookout Mountain? How does it power around the curves? Nice truck. The key on the fender is vintage alarm technology!

That is a pretty nicely equipped somewhat rare rig you have there. The yellow is one I would have not imagined to look so good on there with the two tone.
Nice truck indeed.

Oh, if you need anything, go stop by and talk to Marv Saxton. He specializes in 67-72 new and used parts. Great guy and a good friend. He share shop space with Walt's tire on Old Golden Rd. Called Golden Gate Truck Parts. His number is 303-279-1720. I'm sure he'd like to check out your ride as well.

Nice Longhorn. My '69 C-30 has the 396 and I'm sure that lil' mountain didn't bother it all, especially being unloaded.

It's in Golden on S. Golden Rd. west of I-70 and north of Colfax. He's a one man operation as far as the business is concerned but does real nice work and is an encyclopedia of 67-72 Chevy trucks. I stopped by to see him shortly after I bought my first Blazer years ago. I just kept hangin around tinkering with the trucks and picking his brain. We became real good friends. He has helped me out more that I can say. Can't miss the shop, it's the one with all of the parts trucks right across from the Rock Rest bar.

Starting to get depressed, now I'm in Idaho and don't have a Marv equivalent to go hang out with!
