Hmmm, trying to wrap my brain around this one. So the idea is to use
an electric fan instead of a engine driven fan to cool the system. This
in turn would tax the engine less and improve performance. You would
think this would be a popular mod if it had a decent increase. Does
anyone have any info on improves HP/Torque?

thanks!

For informational value, some of the older farm tractors had no water pump and used natural circulation for cooling. I don't know how it works but have seen a couple.

This is the interplanetary standard for almost all modern vehicles.

I have no idea what the stock fan and related assembly contributes to parasitic loss.

Given that it's pulley driven I would suspect you could see the same gains as installing an underdrive accessory pulley. Then add the fact that it is probably providing more resistance than an accessory when working to create air flow the gains would be more.

My truck seems to get about 9-10mpg regardless of whether I'm driving in town or on the highway. When I removed the stock fan that didn't change much. Of course I've got my foot stuck half way down the carb on most trips so it really doesn't matter much.

I have read between 5-15 hp but that's at 5000 rpm+ Just numbers But a dyno run would be the best.

I have that on my BBC 454 and it kind of does it, but I have a smaller radiator soo I think that is my real problem
