just saved another one!!!
Got '72 c20 Longhorn today that will need some work to get her back on the road. Nicely optioned and is very solid. Rust free doors, one cab corner has a small rust hole about the size of a dime, solid rockers/floor, tool box is rust free, overall condition of the cab is amazing. I'll have to replace the wood in the bed and find a nice tailgate.
It was involved in a minor accident and will need some new parts: windshield, core support, drivers side fender, hood, and the bedside will need some work(very fixable). PO was tight on cash so he sold the bb/tranny to some guy but I may be able to buy it back... If I can't find a good deal on a bbc I might do a 383 sbc. Any way here are some pics

sweet. Those brackets that are bolted into the stake pockets were for securing the camper...so yours probably had a camper in it most it's life.
Take a REAL close look at the rear springs. |

A buddy of mine in tx had a rear bumper like that mounted on his 69 LWB C1500 GMC. We joked about it being a back portch. The sad thing was, the day after we removed it, he got rear ended and F'd up his truck pretty bad.
Come to think of it, the tailgate was missing too....probably had a camper in it. |

the story on the truck is that it spent most of its life with a camper parked under a cover until about last summer
Any ideas on the production numbers for these trucks in 72?

Slide Out Bumper
I don't know if you are going to use or replace your pull-out bumper but I may have a buyer here in Tacoma. A friend is doing a 67 C20 and might want it to fit his frame. If you decide to sell it let me know for local pick-up. I will talk to him in the meantime to see if he is interested.
Thanks - Bob By the way - nice truck. It deserves to be saved.

Glad to see another one is saved. This looks to be very repairable. You should have a nice (OK Great) truck when it's done.

Nice Lookin' Ride
The damage on yours looks a lot like the damage to my 67! Did you find any damage to the frame at all? I haven't had mine apart yet to measure to see if my frame was hurt.
Thanks |
