Does anyone out there make a patch that goes in the front lower portion of the rear wheel opening for burbs? I purchased the rear lower panel and it fit great and went on easy. I have bought the front lower patch for a p/u, but it is not the same, tried to make it work to suit me, but no luck yet. I`ve looked and can`t find anyone that makes this patch panel, help!!!!!!!!

I need the same thing. Scott, what is your burb's front portion of rear wheelwell damage? I don't need the edges to match, just the curve of the panel to essentially cut out a square portion and match a cut portion from a pickup's patch panel. I have the pickup patch panel on order. I'll find out the hard way if the curve/cross-section is the same shape. Do you know if the cross-section's match pickups for burbs, regarless of end shape differences? Am I making sense?

I cut my panels out totally to replace them with the new panels I ordered. The front edge toward the door fits ok, but the edge on the arch is shaped differently at the bottom, which I may could fix with a little work. The main problem is the arch does not have the small bead that runs along the arch, which would not look right when installed. I am going to try to get a local sheet metal shop to make me some, If I can`t find the correct ones anywhere. Let me know how you do with yours.

I noticed that when I cut up the two bedsides for patches. The shortbed bedside had the "bead" on the lip wheras the LWB bedside didn't.... I'm confused...

Bagged, maybe you're on to a tidbit of useful info. Do the shortbed foward rear lower wheelwell patchpanels have a bead while the longbed panels don't?

He is a wheel arch that GMC paul sells with the 1/8th" bead.It states that it will need a little work to fit panel/suburbans http://www.gmcpauls.com/bed_patch_panels.htm

I'm not sure if the repop one's have the bead. I used an original bedside for mine. The contour of the lower part(near the rocker) was off a little and it doesn't have enough metal to actually make the "pinchweld" at the bottom but that is taken care of easily enough. I used a hammer & dolly to rework the bottom contour to match the new rocker. I also cut the patch roughly 5/8" past the doorjamb, scribed it and bent it in so it could be spot welded back into the doorjamb as you would a cab corner...

Thanks guys, I guess I`ll have to cut up an old bed or try to get the part fabbed at a local shop. Hopefully in the near future this part will be available.

This is from GMCPaul 60 3/4" x 23 1/4Tall Fleetside Bed or Suburban, Panel, Blazer, Jimmy complete wheel arch patch panel, EDP coated with black primer, Heavy 19 Gauge steel construction. Excellent Fit, these have the correct lip on the wheel arch area unlike many that are missing the 1/8 bead on outer edge. Suburbans and Panels will require minor modifications to work as slightly different in form in some areas. Ships UPS Oversized

Don`t mean to be a whiner Mike, but the complete arch is just like the panel I have already bought, just more of it, and more expensive. Both the complete arch and the lower front rear fender panel are not the same shape at the bottom of the front arch, and neither has the same shape that will match up with the body lines of the burbs at the bottom of the truck. I realize with some work it might would fit ok, but I am not that good of a metal shaper. I`ve already replaced the metal on the back side of the arch with the new patch panel that wraps all the way around to the back of the truck,very nice part. Hopefully someday soon we will be able to buy the front patch that will fit our trucks correctly.

Try this one from GMC Pauls site.... It is a front lower patch for a blazer available in L or R side. It appears to have the bead in it also but has the correct "corner" for a burb instead of being radiused like the LWB panel.
