WTB 4.10 gear from 67 to 72 3/4 ton truck or van
I am new to this list and my old 1950 3/4 ton truck needs some pep. I am told that the third pumpkin member from a 1967 -1972 3/4 ton chevy/gm truck or van with automatic transmission is a direct change out for my old truck and can get me going faster than 45 mph. Any leads will be apprechiated. Willing to pay a good price for the gear + shipping. I am in the Houston, Texas region. you can emial me directly at daniel.robinson@prodigy.net

You should also look for a 1 ton dually center section of the same years then. The center section of the 3/4 ton (HO52) rearend and the 1 ton (HO72) rearend interchange freely. You can take that to the bank, I did the swap a couple of weeks ago on my 1 ton to get better gears. It had 5 something gears and I swapped in a 3/4 ton 4:10 gear center section.

Absolutely. What he said.
...but if you REALLY want a set I have a good stock 4.10 ring and pinion out of my HO52 that I swapped out for 3.90 back about 2 years ago. They're in a platic bag sitting on my garage shelf. Heavy suckers, and I made sure there was a film of gear oil on them before I put them away. I haven't looked at them for a while thought...they may have surface rust. I've tried to sell them a couple of times, but like was mentioned it's a lot easier to just swap the 3rd member - carrier and all. Let me know if you're interested. The wear pattern is pretty good. The shop that swapped the gears said that was surprising since my carrier was messed up. They gave them to me because they didn't have the heart to throw them in the trash since they looked like a good gear set, so I've been holding onto them for some crazy reason.
