Sorry to hear that. I'm kickin myself in the arse for parting with my 68 chevy truck. Might as well kick myself for the 68 chevelle and the 49 plymouth. 63 impala, 62 nova...I had better stop there.
But I do know the feeling.

well it was worth a try, but I guess you are right the 99' Suburban was probably a better chase vehicle.

I think this is a crazy idea no matter what vehicle its done in. I've been lucky enough to live through a few tornados and there is no way in H3ll that I'm gonna chase one.
I can't understand why anyone in their right mind would want to get close to one. Those things are completely unpredictable. If you get too close and it turns on you, you are dead. I wish you all the best, but I hope you choose a safer hobby.

I saw a few while I was in Texas (including the F5 that leveled the town of Gerel. <spelling??>) I must say, they are awsome to watch, the sheer power and intensity is nothing short of spectacular. The trail of total destruction and anialation is awe inspireing.
You have not mentioned what your truck is all about. Is it a nice truck....a restorable truck...or a total rust bucket that has 2 tires in it's grave? If it is the latter....go for it. Have fun. If either of the two former...leave it in the garage and get a stupid econobox POS that gets 50 MPG and goes 140 MPH. If it is a hatch back, then you'll have easy access to your cameras and any tools of the trade that you'll need...and it'll be protected from the hail that you are bound to come across. |

Yeah but I don't think that I'll be getting in to any situations that would require 4x4, all that I need is a real hot 350 well 355 now (being rebuilt bored over .030)
