Frame shortening, etc, Questions
What kind of job is it to shorten a longbed frame to accomodate a short fleet bed? Of course purists would probably cringe at this. Is this something that is commonly done? How does one know how much to shorten it (wise men know this answer)? Also, isn't short step bed shorter than a short fleet? So those don't make easy conversions to a fleet bed setup, correct? With some of the prices going crazy I'm not sure I can afford the real deal (like everybody else, I'm lookin' for a 71 or 72 4x4, AC, tach, and a short fleet bed). So, thoughts on this?

Here's a good article on shortening a frame from long to short.
CLICK HERE The short step and short fleet beds are the same length and completely interchangable. Both utilize 115 inch wheelbase.
