Alternator Conversion Confusion
Ok,
After reading some of the posts here Im starting to get nervous, I put a 84 alt on my 71, I got the kit from brothers that adapted the wires, Should I need to put in a resister or add a light? I dont want to burn up my Digital Dash, How do you identify the CS alts? Or am I wasting effort? Everything seamed to work before I stripped the truck for paint...... Thanks Smitty

CS-130 alternators have 4 pins at the connector. The 1st gen. CS-130 has three pins the same size and one larger pin, and the CS-130D (or "Late Model") has 4 pins all the same size (really small). I just ordered the conversion kit from Mad Electronics to make my CS-130D work with aftermarket gauges.
