wtb 72 door panels

I need some white door panels for a 72 chevy. My truck originaly had white panels with the stainless trim and scroll work. I purchased some repro panels a few years ago and they are junk and I am fed up with them. Does anyone have any really nice panels they would part with? I don't wan't anything chalky or with stains that I can never get out. I would like them to be as close to perfect as I could get. I know there has to be some out there somewhere. Does anyone know if the repro panels have gotten any better in the last few years?

Thanks for taking the time to reply and posting the pics! I am really looking for some that are in better shape than the ones you have there. I would like to have some that are as close to perfect as possible. Thanks for trying to help.

I have never seen a used pair of white ones that weren't chalky. They really deterierate (where's that d**n spell check).
You may hear that door repro panels are not very good, but there is more than one company making them. What, exactly, was wrong with yours? The good ones are colored not painted. So far only Black, Blue & Green are available...so, you still have to paint to get white, and that doesn't work very well. I don't know if white colored ones are coming. One of the other venders may know more.

My repro panels have a sticker on the inside of one that reads " Dashtop by Palco Industries INC, made in USA Reno Neveda". To begin with they aren't molded the same as the original panels. Instead of overlaping the recessed area of the door like the factory ones do they just roll down into this same area. This makes the panels both shorter and more narrow than original parts. Mine were not woodgrain but had the stainless trim on them, I tried to swap the trim and the area where it would go was nowhere near the same size. Instead of being molded as one piece there is a main piece with seperate pieces for the clips glued to them. Every time I have tried to remove the panels to work inside the doors the plastic that holds the clips breaks off of the main panel! I was already unhappy with how they looked but when I can't remove them without breaking them I just want to throw them out. I would buy more repro panels if I could find better ones. I just don't see spending money on some that are as poorly made as what I already have.

I have white ones that were very chalky and I very lightly sandblasted them. They came out perfect flat white. Now originally they were much more glossy but they look great in flat white and it's cheap and easy.

We tried the sandblasting trick on my original panels and they look much better than we started. They still don't quite look as good as what I am looking for. I think mine may of had a few to many deep scratches for this to have been a good fix.

If you have already sandblasted them...fix the scratches and get some white expoxy paint and paint them..they will look as good as new. Finding white ones that are near perfect will be nearly impossible unless you really luck up

I'm not real familiar with plastic repair, what would use to repair the scratchs? Any special kind of prep for painting plastic?

I have a nice set of medium olive ones. They are near perfect. They have the trim and come with arm rests and the foams for the handle and crank to seal out the air ... PM if interested.. already boxed and ready to go...

They look really good but not my color. I may call the man at the body shop I use on Monday and see what he can do for me with painting the originals.
