Seatbelt Upgrade Recommendations
I know it has been asked before, but couldnt find it. Anybody upgraded to a three point and what did you use that would bolt up without much modification.
Thanks Don ------------------ 68 GMC 3/4 Ton Fleetside 327 AT/400 Jacksonville, Fl

I went with Juliano's. You can get three point seat belts and a plate that goes under the cab sheetmetal that spreads the load in case of metalurgical disharmony (a crash).
It was a piece of cake, drill a few holes and bolt it in, but doesn't work with the existing seat belt attachement point. I put in a bench seat out of a '94 when I did mine and like it alot.

I used an 80s series s-10 blazer for my pickup's shoulder belts. it works fine but the only gripe is that the female end is still too dang short and requires a bit more work at bucking up. once i'm in though, it's perdy comfy. I'm sure if i had welding ability i could fab some new bracket or something but that aint happening so i deal with it.

I'll second the Julianno's 3-point setup. They are somewhat expensive but do come with good install instructions. Only thing you need to be aware of is that the belt that comes from behind the seat (male?) comes in different lengths and it is up to you to get the size that fits you right. Measure with seat forward and back also. One other thing is that the buckles are smaller than stock GM therefore don't look anything like original.

I have converted my lap belts to a three point setup and decided to go with a kit from brothers. It was about 200 bucks but it took me longer to get the seat out than install the whole set. THey work great, just keep in mind the price i paid compared to other places prices, sure mine may be a bit high but you get what you pay for, and they work great!

We just read the recommendations for S10 seat belts and there was a guy parting an s10 was kinda stunned that he had a buyer for the seat belts wanted 20/pair they had some crackes in the plastic that is behind the seat we got them for $15.00. The passenger side was a direct bolt in and the driver side we took a piece of 5/16 bar about 1.5 by 8" and 2 holes one for the existing hole under gas tank and one to bolt the seatbelt return mechanism. Clean install and works fine and has the lap belt for the center passenger.
Thanks all for your suggestions and advice. Ed ke6bnl So. Calif. Agua Dulce. Quote:
