I am having problems installing the new clips into my new GM grill moulding clips. The clips pop out of the moulding when I tighten the clips down. It's like the clips are too small. Anyone else had problems like that ?

A friend of mine that does restorations never uses new clips. He says they are too small even when bought through GM. That's why he saves every single decent used clip he finds. Cleans em up and they work as originally designed. I believe they've had this problem for years so I can't believe there hasn't been enough complaints to force a remedy!?

I should add that I only know this for sure on 69-72 lower mouldings but I'm assuming there must be a similar problem with the 67-68.

I have used both and I make sure that they are turned tightly before I tighten the nut as they are a half turn type bolt are the little wires still on them? I have never had 1 pop out when installed properly.I know the lip is not large on the molding but have patience.

Well I am a Idiot.

I was instaling the clips the wrong way...The round edge needs to go into the lip. I was putting the squared edge in as the grabbing edge.
