Longhorns ?

Are all longhorns one tons? Saw one for sale, the guy wanted WAY to much, 6500 bucks. Just didn't know if they all came as 1 tons.

No, Longhorns also came in 3/4 ton. Only the 9 foot long step side trucks were all 1 ton.

the one ton longhorns have lower production numbers than the 3/4 ton longhorns, and the 68 one ton is a pretty rare bird.

Ok now I´m confused let me get it straight, mine is a 68 6 in L with a 4 speed manual and has 8 lug wheels with a 9 foot bed but its not stepside so it 3/4 or 1 ton.

I'll be willing to bet my left nut, that if you measure the bed, it will be 8.5 feet. The Longhorn bed was an 8 foot bed with 6" added to the front by the factory. They didn't do a bang up job on it, and you can see the seam near the front of the bed. The 9 foot step side bed was actually planned that way, and was one solid bed side, not an 8 foot bed with another foot added on.

Yeah, these are just the "last" of the 9-footer StepSides.I liked when they came with single Budd-type rims in earlier years.

that 4 means cab and pick up bed, if it was the model number, then it would be a stepside code.
