Quick Ratio PS ?

Are there different ratio PS boxes from the factory, and if not do any vendors offer any aftermarket units ? I want to buy a quick ratio box if possible.

There was a post a while back about this--believe all the GM trucks from 82 on had quick ratio boxes but they also have metric fittings on them so you have to do some tweeking to do a bolt up. Not sure if this just applies to 2x4 or 4x4.
ANYONE ELSE HAVE DEFINITE INFO ON THIS CONVERSION????

When I got the 72 I,m driving now it was manual steering. We had several trucks here in the yard and the one I took a box off of was a 73 or 74.

It used the flared fittngs on the lines. It is about 3 and ½ turns lock to lock. Great in a tight place but a little sensitive out on the road.

So yeah they do exist how to tell the difference I don't know right this moment, I have been told it's the input shaft size but I'll have to check on that. If I find out for sure I'll let you know.

Thanks for the replies so far. The ones I have now are about 4 turns lock to lock. 3 would be what I'm wanting. Does anyone know what the 3/4 boxes are lock to lock ?.............Thanks...............Z
