rear end question
wondering if anyone can tell me how to tell what kind of rear end I have under my 68 gmc custom. the data plate is missing and the front seal is leaking and I need to replace it. It has 10 bolts and filler plug is in the rear. Also can I find a chrome cover with a rear filler plug? and where?

Stock would have been a 12-bolt. Someone must have changed it out. Likely a standard 10-bolt from more recent year.

false, he has a dana 44 axle its stock original, thts what GMC usually got before '69
