72 Cadillac 500 motor..Is it worth it or not

The oppurtunity for me to snag a complete 1972 El Dorado with a 500 motor & Tranny for a price that makes it just good to say no to with the recent posts reguarding the big old Caddy motors it got me wondering about doing a transplant possibly into a truck or burb, A buddy of mine told that the old guys would put them into tow trucks and trailer haulers because of the torque they put out,and there high nickel content in the blocks making them pretty bulletproof.Im just gonna probably just go ahead and get it anyway just because Im a big block nut. the 250.00 price tag just keeps calling my name.

definately a good deal. The rear sump oil pan on that motor will go for $100 to $150 minimum (i've seen more like $200) on Ebay.

The rear sump pan is an Eldo only pan, and is needed for most GM swaps trucks and cars.
