Question Steering Column Question

I just got my new column in today and it has the original "U" shaped plug. I am putting a Painless kit in my truck and it only has the flat plug. What are my options here?? I have an adapter, but it if for the other way around..."U" plug with male ends, going into a flat plug for a van tilt that I had. Do they make an adapter that goes the other way around?? If so, does anyone have an extra one laying around?? Any info appreciated.

You mean for the turn signal wire harness? Yes, they make an adapter:

http://www.chevyduty.com - Includes it with their replacement turn signal switch (53-510) - Item on the right in the pic.

You could print this pic, and take it to a parts store and see if you can find it - or call chevy duty and see if they will sell you the adapter or could tell you where to get it.

Someone else on this board may know how to get one local to you.

In stead of the REVERSE adaptor you mentioned(which I don't think anybody makes) you might just replace the turn signal switch with a newer flat style. Many of the vendors should be able to help you out.

You can do 1 of 2 things, you can cut the flat one off one in the junkyard, and then solder all of your wires up to the wires that are hanging out.
You can also get an empty flat plug, and the terminals that go inside. You can put the terminals on the ends of your wires and they slip right into the plug. I found the terminals at a local auto repair shop that specializes in vehicle electronics.
