What is the logic behind putting a starting bid at a penny less then the buy it now option? (from a seller point of view). Just wondering.

you cant have a "buy it now" in a public auction without a starting price, if it is an "in store" item it can be purchased as just a "buy it now", but items that are in the store won't show up in an ebay search. and I don't want someone to bid on them and have the "buy it now" go away so if it is one penny difference they will usually just "buy it now" and get it over with. then I can re-list it and sell another pair without having to wait for the auction to close.

I hope that makes sense but it is just a way to sell the item at a fixed price but have it still show up in the auction searches.
