BB flexplate
Are all chevy big block flex plates the same I have a 396 and when I look up the flex plate it shows the same for the BB 400 and 454. I am pretty sure when I ordered the harmonic balancer that it had to be externally balanced.

396/402 & 427BB were an internal balance. 400SB and 454BB are external balance so if your using it on a 396 it should be for a internal balance and the same with the harmonic balancer.HTH::::::::CB

may be wrong on the balancer Iknow I bought it for a 396, so the flex plate on a 454 not work on a 396
