Slightly off topic - My gripe of the day

So I find out today that one of my neightbors has a '72 Cheyenne w/ 350 bored .060, auto, & air that he wants to sell for $1500. I go and drive it and instantly I'm in love. It also was an exact replica of my first '72, up until he primered it, OK it's fixable. So I convince him that I'll buy his '72 if he'll help me sell my '67 long step. Within 4 hours the dude had about a dozen different people come and look at my truck. So I'm really impressed. However, not one of these people had ever been around a '67-72. I spent the better part of 4 hours explaining to people that it is not uncommon for these trucks to have rotted rockers, floor pans and a few dents - It was a farm truck for 34 years... I'm only wanting about $800 give or take for the truck and it even runs... One guy even asked me if I could guarantee that this truck would be able to run to Dallas and back once a week. C'mon now, this truck probably hasn't topped 50 mph in at least a decade. Maybe I'm too used to conversing with truck people like y'all that expect some things not to be right. I've currently got the truck primered except the left door and left rear fender which I've got stripped to bare metal right now and every foot or so there's a dent with some Bondo to help smooth it out. The funniest moment came while one guy was lookin' at the left side and asked if there was any bondo in the truck. I just pointed and asked him what he thought all that pink stuff was... The sad thing was that all of these people came to look for something they could haul trash in, or use to haul lawn mowers - not one of 'em was interested in it because they like Bowties or even old metal. Anyway I'm done griping now, Thanks for listening.

Also Joe, I haven't given up on the 3/4 ton, just workin' my way up to it

P.S. Here's a pic of the soon-to-be project, disregard the bed, it'll be the first to go, guy's uncle left rotting grass in it for 3 years, can see the whole undercarriage through the bed

Why would someone care if it has dents, dings or bondo in it if they are just going to haul lawnmowers? I hope you sell it to a good home...

An $800 longstep? These cheap longsteps for sale in my vicinity are killing me. Luckily MrGMC68 sold his before I got to see it--I might have foolishly squandered money that I don't even have just to get a '68 GMC V6 longstep. Please sell yours quickly, Lester! My brother lives in Tulsa and we're taking furniture up to him this weekend. Don't make me come up there and do something I'll regret! LOL

BTW, I don't think this is off-topic at all.
