possessed
My Truck is possessed!
for the last few months Ive been having funny things happen with my windsheld wipers. a few times a week my wipers will go on all by there self. for no aparent reson. they "seem" to go on around 5-6 pm when driving. or any time during the day. sometimes it will wipe once and other it will not stop till I stop it. its actualy pretty funny. I mean I know my truck has a mind of its own. always wants to drive me crazy when I least want it. but one time a couple months ago I was home and the truck has been siting there for a few hours. and about 2-3 am I heard this very loud screaching and drag in time noise. I just passed it as someting from the apartments next door *always noisy cars*. got out to the car in the next day and saw burn't rubber on my windsheld. and I got out and saw that my whipers were pretty tost. and I sat there thinging WTF??? then I remember last nights odd noise and put 2 & 2 togeather and just laughted my frigin head off. the whipers were on for some time too. a good part of an hour, mabe more. it was so loud it woke my mom. LOL. even more funny is that it dident drain my battery. just thought Ide pass this along. mabe make people laugh for a min.

i have a little mazda (ranger in disguise) i drive to work and it does the same thing. wipers every week or two will run for a few seconds and turn off. the door/seatbelt dinger will go off all of the sudden when i take a long ride for an hour or two. sometimes it will catch you by surprise.

My truck does something like that. If I have my lights on, and push the knob in to turn them off, my wipers will do 1 sweep of the winshield on it's own. Thought I would share. David

Sounds like Christine on crack, if your truck starts fixing itself, time to turn into a little cube of metal.

Before I changed my delay module, it would wipe randomly when the truck was started. Then every once and a while when I was driving. Now if I have the wipers on and I put the right turn signal on, the wipers stop. As soon as the turn signal turns on, they fire back up.

It'll be the module between the wiper switch and the wire harness plug. It goes inline in the circuit.
To diagnose it, unplug the wiring harness and then remove the delay module off of the switch. Now, plug the wire harness directly into the switch where the module plugged in. You now have non intermittant wipers. Drive the truck awhile. Once you're convinced the problem is gone, replace the delay module with a new one.
