Cleaning Gauge Lense

My older brother just scored a new gauge lense for his 84 from a junkyard, its in really good shape but its a little dirty. He wants to know what is the best way to clean it? He tried to clean his old one and ended up scratching the hell out of it which is why he needed a different one. What is the best way to do this without damaging the plastic?

I have heard 3M makes a really good plastic cleaner. You just have to make sure its ok to use on plastic and dont use anything abasive either.

Google........polishing rolex crystals.
If you can do that......you can polish any plastic to new.

Toothpaste! believe me it works, i did it on my 79. Use a small amount and a clean cloth and clean a small area at a time in a spiril motion. Rinse it off with water. it does a great job and costs pennys. It must be a paste not a gel
