The factory harness had a pink wire for the 12 volt terminal and it plugged into the fuse panel in the "Ignition Unfused" location. The other wire was brown and it went to the negative side of the ignition coil. If you have HEI then it should plug into the terminal on the coil marked "Tach".
The tach gets its ground through the instrument housing. Jim |

one is brown and one is pink. on the back of the tach it is labeled "coil" and "12 volt". the brown is on the coil side and pink is 12 volt. is that all i need to do is wire it to the coil and a power source?

if its a factory tach, coil wire go`s to the coils or hei, and the other go`s to your fusebox on a keyed hot plug in... so where did you find that? i missed it, i was there friday and saturday....but did frind some good deals
good luck with the tach. jamie

Just as i came out of the little back room I turned right. On the corner was a guy with a lot of 67-72 truck parts, had a 67-68 white grille standing up against wall. Any way right next to him was a guy that had one sitting on his table, I think he also had an old maybe 65 Impala convertible for sale, pretty rough. I asked him how much and he said $200, I walked away and came back in about 5 min. and offered him $150, got it bought for $160. Hope it works!!
