Will doorlocks from a 74 fit a 81 door??
I have a 74 GMC. I bought some doorlocks for it but I have doors that are from a 81. Will these older doorlocks fit?

i have door locks from a 76 and from an 86. If you take the tack that 73-80 doors are the same and 81-87 are the same i see no difference in the door lock assemblies. and i have used inside parts from alternate years for my work trucks. The only difference is the window crank assemblies. the newer ones are a longer shaft to accomodate the door panel. If youre talking about the lock cylinder most GM with the round key would work, you just have to get the proper rear linkage on there so it will work in the door.
